north america’s largest private shortwave transmission site is wrmi, world radio miami international. the station has 14 transmitters that, together, total over 1.4 million watts of output power. there are over 20 large directional antennas beaming signals to every continent, relaying different international news station broadcasts from all over the world. the station broadcasts on multiple different frequencies simultaneously, and the frequency you can pick up would depend on your region and time of day. i’m in the eastern united states, so i can easily find them on 9395 khz. this is a very easy station to pick up if you’re just starting out.
